Tether of Twine and Truth

Intent: To bind an energy, habit, person (non-harmfully), or spirit to your will or boundary.

You Will Need:

    •    A length of natural twine or black thread

    •    A small piece of parchment or brown paper

    •    Black candle

    •    Clove or mugwort (dried)

    •    Pen and fireproof dish

Spell Steps:

    1.    Write the name or description of what you are binding on the paper.

    2.    Sprinkle the clove or mugwort on the paper as you whisper:

“By root and rope, by thread and thorn,

Let this be bound from dusk till dawn.

By will and word, I hold thee fast,

In present form as long shall last.”

    3.    Fold the paper tightly and tie it with the twine.

    4.    Light the black candle and gently heat-seal the knot (be safe). Hold the knot above the flame and speak:

“No harm I cast, but firm decree,

This shall be bound, so mote it be.”

    5.    Store in a dark place, or bury it if meant to be a permanent bind.
